Employment and housing potential
The MIHAN project in Nagpur, covering 4025 hectares, aims to establish a Multi-modal
International Hub Airport and adjacent Special Economic Zones (SEZ), significantly
enhancing regional development. The airport, designed to handle 18 million passengers
and 870,000 tons of cargo annually by 2030, is complemented by a state-of-the-art IT
Park, Health City, and a captive power plant. The project will generate approximately
150,000 direct and 300,000 indirect jobs, fostering demand for housing and
infrastructure in the area. Major developers are already acquiring land for townships,
positioning Nagpur as a key business hub in central India. The city’s existing robust
infrastructure further supports this growth.
